Fashion Icon of the Week

I haven't had a fashion icon in a few weeks, so may I introduce to you.....THE PIPETTES! Besides producing amazing music with a retro 80's feel, The Pipettes have great style.

Retail Me Not

I found this site on Wednesday when I was looking for Bliss Promotion Codes. It is called www.retailmenot.com. I was so excited, because it gives you a whole bunch of promotion codes and coupons for different websites!!!! YAY!

BLISS SALE

Bliss (of NYC Spa fame) is having a huge sale on products like body butter, lip plumpers, and appearal. Hurry...it won't last. Their products are AMAZING, and I recommend buying. I use their facewash daily, and I CANNOT live without it.

I finished the book by Jancee Dunn. It was inspirational, and I realized that I MUST be a journalist...or I will DIE. My next book is Twilight (For the second time!).

A Confused Suburbia...

I think that suburbia is confused by what exactly fashion is. For example, I wore a pair of tights, black checkered bermudas, and a chunky sweater, and I was considered 'dressed up'. Not only that, but my peers seem to think that it is great whenever everyone has the same outfit on. Then again, they believe that Hollister and Abercrombie are heaven. Whatever is going on in their robot minds, I know not, but at least I can dress without being imitated.

GAH! Please excuse the lack of updates...I was busy busy busy busy busy busy!

Style Icon of the Week!

This week is..........LILY ALLEN! Brit singer Lily Allen known for her songs Smile and Knock Em Out definetly has a style of her own. But the question is...how does one pull off a Lily Allen style?

1. Sneakers and dresses, although it is sort of a don't in the fashion world, suits Lily Allen very well. I would reccomend wearing converses with a dress.

2. Lily Allen usually wears bright colors, so think NEON!!!!!!!!

3. If you don't have bangs, pull up your hair in a sidepart, but PULL UP YOUR HAIR!

4. Wear BIG sunglasses!

Grammys!

Sorry there are so many posts about bangles! Something went crazy with my computer, so I don't know what happened. XD
Sadly it is Sunday night, and that means that tomorrow is Monday. :( BUT!!!! The Grammies are on tonight!!! YAY!!!!!!
My picks for tonight are the Plain White Tees, Feist, and Amy Winehouse. I have seen a few of the dresses, and they are all in very rich tones. And how can I forget Prince's outfit? He wore a BRIGHT red suit with an upturned collar-CLASSIC PRINCE!

Great Book!

Today I went shopping with my friend Taylor, and I picked up this book that I have been wanting to buy for a while. It is about how a small town girl (like me) became a reporter for Rolling Stone (what i hope to be!). It looks VERY good, and I cannot wait to read it!!!

I did not buy anything else, although I did see a very tempting sweater, beret, and many Hello Kitty items. I guess I am good at saving for NYC. (we are going...sometime!!!)

Shopping Tips!

Sorry I did not write yesterday...I had too much to do and not enough time!
Today, I will give you some of my FAVORITE shopping tips.
1. Always try stuff on. Some times it looks good on the rack, but not on you, and then you are left with having to return the clothes (even though you get to do more shopping!)
2. The clearance area is usually in the back of the store (in case you lived under a rock and did not know that!) so head there first!
3. At stores like The Gap and H&M, the same adult styles are sometimes featured in children styles, too. IF THEY FIT AND DON'T MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A LITTLE KID!!, I actually reccomend that you buy the kid style because it is cheaper!
4. Go to thrift stores! Sometimes you can find really cute stuff for a VERY cheap price!
5. Do not over-pay for ANYTHING. Sometimes designer knock-offs can look cuter than the orginals. Then again...do not buy a designer handbag!

Across the Universe

HOORAY!!!! Across the Universe finally comes out on DVD today! For those of you who do not know, Across the Universe is a movie featuring the Beatles music. It is based in the sixties, and seems to be modeled after the lives of the Beatles. (Main charcter Jude seems to be like John Lennon-that is just my impression) Anyway appearences from Bono, Joe Cocker, and Evan Rachel Wood, not to mention the kalediscope filming make this movie definetly one of my favorites!

Super Tuesday Primaries

Tomorrow is Super Tuesday in the US, and you know what that means. Both the Democrat and Republican Parties will be fighting for votes from 24 states. This huge primary election could very easily sway the polls in favor of one candidate or another. Obviously I have my own opinions about each candidate, even though I cannot vote yet. For the Democrat ballot, I believe that Barack Obama is the better candidate, because he does not focus on experience alone. I think that Hilary is sort of degrading herself by wearing all of those 'boxy' outfits, because she could be really stylish. I know it is her 'style', but it still bugs me.

On the other side of the vote, I am unsure. I definetly do not like the way Romney is running his 'I'm Rich, so watch my ads' campaign. The other candidates I am unsure about, so we'll just have to see what happens.

Fashion Week NYC Begins

Designers including DKNY, Rock and Republic, and Lela Rose showed up for this year's fashion week NYC. I wish I could have been there...the designers, the clothes, and most importantly the free gifts! After watching Ugly Betty, I realized that most things in the fashion industry are is free. That is, if you can afford going to a huge fashion show like this.

This Week's Style Icon!!!

This week's style icon is AGYNESS DEYN. The British 'it' girl has a style of her own with bright colors, skinny jeans, and a pixie hair cut.

Her style is definetly coveted in the fashion world, and she has appeared several times in magizines such as Teen Vogue.

To get your own Agyness Deyn look here is what you need:

1. Bright color jeans: I really like them from Old Navy, I have 2 pairs: 1 in blue, and 1 in purple. Even though I am really short, the look OK rolled under (NOT CUFFED!)
